Privacy Policy

Thorne Cricket Limited — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

  1. Who we are

Thorne Cricket Limited is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. It covers our website, customer enquiries, products and services, and our private Pinterest publishing application.

Website: https://thornecricket.co.uk
Email: info@thornecricket.co.uk

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we collect:

• Contact details, including your name, email address, telephone number and billing or delivery address.
• Enquiries, correspondence, order details, payment confirmations, service instructions and delivery information.
• Names, wording, photographs or artwork you supply for engraving, personalised products or other work.
• Technical information collected by our website and hosting providers, such as IP address, browser information, security logs and cookie preferences.
• Business-account information and publishing content used by our Pinterest application, as explained below.

We obtain information directly from you, through our website and communications, and from the services used to process your orders, payments and deliveries. Online card payments are handled by our payment providers.

3. How and why we use information

We use information to answer enquiries, provide quotations, process orders, complete bat repairs and personalisation, arrange delivery, provide customer support and keep appropriate business records.

Our legal bases are:

• Contract: providing products or services, or taking steps you request before entering a contract.
• Legal obligation: keeping accounting records and meeting other legal requirements.
• Legitimate interests: running and securing our business, managing correspondence, resolving problems and operating our authorised business publishing tools.
• Consent: where required for marketing, optional tracking technologies or another specific use.

If you do not provide information needed to fulfil an order, we may be unable to complete it.

You can object to direct marketing at any time by emailing us or using an unsubscribe option. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

4. Who receives information

We share relevant information with providers needed to operate our business, including:

• GoDaddy for website hosting and related website services.
• Square for our online shop, orders and payments.
• Printful where it produces or fulfils merchandise orders.
• Delivery companies, communication providers and professional advisers where necessary.
• Pinterest, OpenAI and the hosting and storage providers supporting our private publishing application.

For example, a fulfilment provider needs the order and delivery details required to produce and deliver your purchase.

We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to establish or defend legal claims. We do not sell personal information.

Providers also process certain information under their own privacy notices.

5. Pinterest publishing application

Thorne Cricket Staging App, also referred to as Thorne Cricket Publisher, is a private tool for managing Thorne Cricket’s own Pinterest business account. It is not a public account-management service.

When the business owner authorises it through Pinterest, the application receives access and refresh tokens and can retrieve the business profile, existing boards and Pins. It stores uploaded images, app credentials, connection information and local publication records.

This information is used to maintain the authorised connection, prepare and publish approved content, check existing Pins and prevent duplicate submissions.

Publishing sends the selected image, Pin text, destination link and board information to Pinterest. When the private ChatGPT connection is used, requested account information and publication results are processed in that conversation by OpenAI.

App credentials and connection tokens are encrypted before storage. The publisher and its stored images are protected by private owner access. The application does not collect the owner’s Pinterest password or connect to our customer order and payment records.

The owner can revoke the application’s access through Pinterest settings. Using “Disconnect and delete stored data” in the publisher removes its stored credentials, tokens, uploaded images and local publication records. This does not delete existing Pinterest Pins or copies in ChatGPT conversations. Provider logs and backups follow their separate retention arrangements.

6. Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for website operation, security and any optional features enabled on the site.

Where consent is required for analytics, advertising or other optional technologies, we request it through the website’s cookie controls. You can manage choices through those controls where available and through your browser settings.

Rejecting optional cookies should not prevent access to the privacy policy.

7. How long we keep information

We retain information according to its purpose and any legal requirements.

Accounting records are normally retained for six years from the end of the financial year they relate to, or longer where legally required.

For enquiries, service records and correspondence, we consider whether the enquiry or order is complete, whether warranty or complaint matters remain open, and whether information is needed for a legal claim.

Pinterest application data remains stored until removed through the publisher’s deletion function or another authorised deletion request. Published content and information held separately by service providers follow their own retention arrangements.

8. Security and overseas processing

We use access controls and appropriate technical measures to protect personal information.

Some providers process information outside the United Kingdom. Where a restricted international transfer requires protection, we rely on applicable UK adequacy arrangements or appropriate contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.

9. Your rights and complaints

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer of it. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests.

You have a separate right to object to direct marketing at any time.

To exercise your rights or raise a privacy concern, email info@thornecricket.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office:
https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complain/

10. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our services or information-handling practices change. The latest version will be published on our website with its update date.
