Runs4Research 2026

Following the hand injury I sustained whilst playing cricket, I am pleased to confirm that I have now been given the all-clear by the hospital to resume normal activities.

As a result, Thorne Cricket is once again accepting all types of work, including bat repairs, refurbishments, knocking in, preparation and other specialist services.

I am continuing to rebuild strength in my hand and work through the existing workload accumulated during my recovery, so turnaround times may remain slightly longer than usual in the short term. I will provide the most realistic timescale possible when your bat is received.

As always, every bat will receive the same level of care, attention and workmanship, and I will never rush a job simply to reduce the turnaround time.

Enquiries and new bookings are very welcome.

Thank you to everyone who has shown patience, understanding and support throughout my recovery. It has been greatly appreciated, and I'm looking forward to getting back to full capacity at Thorne Cricket.

At Thorne Cricket, every bat is treated individually — whether it needs a simple repair, a full refurbishment, or complete match preparation.

From restoring damaged edges and toes to full refurbs and custom laser engraving, we help players get the most out of their bats — without the cost of replacing them.
